Built in Denver for the Solar Industry
Sun Store came out of a procurement problem that the founding team lived through firsthand. The AI engine started as a spreadsheet, and then it got shared.
It Started as a Spreadsheet
The founding team was running procurement for a regional solar installation company in Colorado. The same problem surfaced week after week: materials lists assembled the morning after a project was awarded, supplier calls made that same afternoon, order confirmations trickled in over the next several days. By the time lead times were confirmed, the installation window was compressed. Some items arrived late. Others were ordered in excess to cover uncertainty and sat in storage.
The spreadsheet started as a way to track which suppliers carried which items and what their typical lead times looked like by season. It got shared with a neighboring installation company after a conversation at a regional trade event. Then with two more companies. The insight was that the hardest part was not tracking the data, it was reasoning across it when a new project arrived. Each project required the same cross-referencing work, done manually, every time.
Applying AI to that reasoning layer turned the spreadsheet logic into a running engine. When a project is added, the AI does the cross-referencing automatically: queries connected supplier sources, ranks order options by lead time and price, calculates the order-by date per line item, and flags gaps. The work that took a purchasing lead two hours of phone calls now takes a review of a plan that the AI prepared.
Colorado ranks among the top states for residential and commercial solar adoption. Denver's elevation and sun exposure make the economics work on smaller projects, and the state's net metering policy drives a steady install volume. The supply chain supporting Colorado's install base runs through regional distributors and direct manufacturer programs, with lead times that can vary 3-6 weeks depending on product family and time of year. That variability is what Sun Store is built to absorb.
What We Are Trying to Fix
Solar procurement should not require a phone call to find out if materials are in stock. Purchasing teams at installation companies and equipment retailers carry too much in their heads and too little in their systems. Sun Store gives them a single place to surface that information and act on it before the install window closes.
- Make supplier stock and lead time data accessible without per-project phone calls
- Generate ranked order plans automatically instead of assembling them by hand
- Surface stock gaps and compatible alternatives before they become schedule problems
- Export plans directly into existing PO workflows with no process change required
The Team Behind Sun Store
Agata Krawiec-Rokita
CEO & Co-Founder
Agata Krawiec-Rokita brings years working at the intersection of solar supply chain and procurement operations. Her background spans materials logistics, supplier coordination, and the practical challenge of matching what projects need with when equipment can arrive. She has built systems that connect material lead times to project timelines at scale, giving procurement teams a clearer way to plan around changing supplier information and active installation schedules. That perspective guides Sun Store's focused approach to procurement planning.
The procurement spreadsheet she built to track supplier lead times and stock patterns was the direct predecessor to Sun Store's AI engine. After several installation companies in her network began using the spreadsheet and requesting features, the founding team came together to build it properly.
Agata is based in Denver. She holds a background in operations management from a regional university program focused on supply chain and logistics. She speaks English and Polish.
Derek Winslow
Co-Founder & CTO
Derek Winslow builds data pipeline infrastructure for supply chain visibility across energy and construction. His background is in backend systems that bring together supplier inventory signals, availability information, and project demand. He works on the less visible part of procurement: making different operational inputs usable when teams need to understand what material is available and how it fits against upcoming work. His work centers on reconciling changing supplier information with the requirements of active projects.
At Sun Store, that experience shapes the system behind procurement planning. The platform reads supplier signals, cross-checks quoted lead times and stock information, and relates those inputs to project demand. It then helps purchasing teams generate order plans for solar equipment, with a clearer view of which product options can line up with upcoming installation schedules. His focus is the data infrastructure that makes those comparisons practical.
Derek is based in Denver, Colorado. He serves as Sun Store's Co-Founder and CTO.
Carmen Zurita
Head of Partnerships
Carmen Zurita works in partnership development for clean energy distribution. Her background is in channel sales that connects manufacturers with regional installer networks, with a focus on the relationships and operating context that shape how equipment moves through the market. She understands the practical link between supplier coverage, distributor coordination, and the needs of teams buying materials for solar projects.
At Sun Store, that channel knowledge helps shape how the product accounts for supplier network breadth and serves both solar installers and retailers. The company applies AI to compare stock, lead times, and quoted prices across product options, so purchasing teams can line up materials with upcoming projects. Carmen's perspective keeps the approach grounded in how suppliers, distributors, installers, and retailers exchange information and make purchasing decisions.
Carmen is based in Denver, Colorado. She serves as Sun Store's Head of Partnerships.
